Buzzin' Dozen Homemakers

Buzzin Dozen HomemakersThis group met for their first meeting at the Donna Schelske home in August 1959. Since then, the Buzzin' Dozen Homemakers has been busy with many projects including: quilts for Childrens Village, funding for Clinic building, Youth Center, Park Shelter, display case for Legion Hall, bought street signs for city, sponsored roller skating, donated for tennis court, helped with Meals on Wheels, Special Olympics, served International Dinner to raise funds for ambulance equipment, donated to the Heritage Center, sponsored Child Safety and Farm Safety programs, sponsored candidates for Stutsman County Dairy Princess, Wedding Gown Style Show for Diamond Jubilee and participated in Fall Festival with booths, floats, exhibit registration and serving the noon meal.

The Buzzin' Dozen Homemakers, along with two disbaned homemakers clubs, started a local scholarship in 1963. That $100.00 scholarship has been given yearly to a high school senior to be used at the college of their choice.
